The Black's Academy Method
In this interview, director of Black's Academy, Peter Fekete, explains the method used to tutor all students.

The Black's Academy Method is based on the princple that students construct their own concepts. Hence, the aim of every session is to facilitated the student's problem-solving. This principle is known as constructivism in educational theory. The second main principle is the targeting of learning to the student's optimal zone of proximal development. This concept derives from the work of Russian educational psychologist, Lev Vygotsky.

Peter Fekete, the director of Black's Academy, is a British born scholar and teacher of Hungarian ethnicity. His name, "Fekete", means "Black" in Hungarian, hence, "Black's Academy". Peter was educated at Dulwich College in South London and Cambridge, where he studied Philosophy, specialising in Philosophy of Mathematics and Philosophy of Mind. He also has two degrees in Mathematics. He has taught thirteen A level subjects successfully.
